regression and correlation
Bivariate statistical techniques allow the joint analysis of two characteristics of the individuals in a population with the purpose of detecting possible relationships between them. The nature (nominal, ordinal or numerical).
regression
Correlation
We use it to mean the estimation of a variable based on another known value, corresponding to the other variable.
The correlation between two variables seeks to determine the degree of relationship that exists between the two of them. It is calculated with the correlation coefficients.
Linear regression
Positive correlation
examines the relationship between two variables by restricting one of them with respect to the other, in order to study the variations of the first when the other remains constant.
It is said that there is a positive linear correlation between two variables, if increasing or decreasing the values of the independent variable increase or decrease those of the dependent variable.
Negative correlation
when increasing the values of the independent variable decreases the values of the dependent variable. either Vice versa, the linear correlation is said to be negative
