A presentation about the different new weapons and technologies used in World War I.

Among the chemicals used were mustard gas, which caused terrible burns on the skin, phosgene, a choking agent, and chlorine. Countries like Britain, Germany and France used them, causing around 91000 deaths.

The Lewis and Maxim machine guns were the most common. They changed the way of combat by allowing mass shooting with just one person.

Mostly used by Germany, flamethrowers could burn the enemy leaving devastating effects with a range of around 20 yards.

Military aircraft in WWI was used to cause considerable damage to the enemy from the air. Military aircraft is still used today but it has improved in many ways.

During World War I, British, American, and Portuguese troops used Stokes mortar, a 3-inch trench mortar designed for high angles of fire designed by Wilfred Stokes.

A weapon positioned between a mortar and a cannon. Howitzers are an excellent addition to any battery formation together with other artillery pieces like mortars, rocket artillery, and long-barreled guns because of their long-range capabilities.

During World War I, submarines played a crucial military role, with both British and German navies using them against opposing warships, with Franz Becker commanding German U-boats from 1915.

During World War I, officers received pistols, with the Luger being the most famous. British officers used the Webley Mark IV, but they were not crucial on the battlefield.

Most used weapon in World War I,went through big changes duing the late 19th century. Most common rifles between Allies was Lee-Enfield 303 among others.

During World War I, barbed wire was used for both defensive and trapping objectives. Soldiers would defend their trenches with barbed wire installed on the ground a distance away from the tops of their trenches.
