What is the constitution ?

Sovereignty

A principle under which all persons, institutions, and entities are accountable to laws that are: Publicly promulgated. Equally enforced. Independently adjudicated.
Separation of powers.
Separation of Powers: An Overview Separation of powers, therefore, refers to the division of government responsibilities into distinct branches to limit any one branch from exercising the core functions of another.
Federalism
This principle ensures a balance of power and authority between the national and state governments.
Checks and balances.
This principle ensures that no single branch of government can become too powerful and that each branch has the ability to restrain certain actions taken by the other branches
