Making room for culture

It's about recognizing and respecting learners' differences; it's no longer about defending any cultural superiority. Instead, teaching is centered on the learner and his or her needs, which moves the concept of socio-cultural competence towards a broader understanding of the existence of individuals in increasingly intense exchanges.

Towards linguistic autonomy

Students are encouraged to become autonomous in their learning. This may include using online resources, participating in French cultural activities and reinforcing independent learning skills.

Orientation and support services

For foreign students, we offer orientation services to help them adapt to life in the country, understand the local education system, and facilitate their social and professional integration. We can focus on developing language skills specific to the professional context. This can include CV writing, communication skills in a professional environment, and comprehension of documents related to a particular field.

The aim of teaching FLE is to develop the ability to communicate in a variety of situations. This requires a teaching approach based on listening, sharing and mediation. This approach favors step-by-step progress, using everyday themes and helping learners discover how the language works.

THE INTERROGATIVE METHOD

THE EXPERIENTIAL METHOD

Methodology

The interactive method that we practice emphasises the conversation aspect without neglecting the grammatical aspect and the lexical field.

Our teachers are responsible for creating a classroom environment to develop competencies, knowledge, and skills in French language and culture through technology in accordance with each student’s ability.

At FLE School we understand that everyone has different learning needs and preferences. This is why we offer both group lessons and individual lessons. Whatever your preferences, we are here to support you in your language journey and help you achieve excellence in a stimulating environment.

I have been taking some lessons with Julieth. My interest in French is related to the fact that I jus recently bought a house in Provence in France, where I have been also working on a new film, thus I would like to be able to communicate with french people, they're so nice!

John Smith

After almost two years taking regular online English conversation lessons, I have been able to improve my fluency and confidence. The interrogative method is based on 3 basic principles:

  • Knowledge of a process or concept cannot be learned if it has not already been understood by the learner;
  • The trainer/teacher is the one with the knowledge and know-how. His role is to ask the learner questions.
  • The learner has the necessary prerequisites to follow the course. They acquire new knowledge by answering questions posed by the trainer. Questioning is the main method used by the trainer, and this varies according to the answers given by the learners. There is constant feedback between student and trainer.

In a training session, the interrogative method translates into appropriate questioning by the trainer, who will lead the learner to construct his own knowledge by establishing links between different elements, giving them the meaning he wishes, and formulating his thoughts. As a result, the trainer takes on a more passive role, while the learner is more active and involved in the learning process.

This teaching method is based on the fact that trainees can only acquire knowledge by acting and making mistakes. It's all about learning in real-life conditions. The trainer becomes a simple contributor, and while he or she possesses knowledge and know-how, he or she is no longer in a dominant position. The experiential or experimental method requires a great deal of preparation on the part of the trainer/instructor, who must carry out the experiments or projects before they are carried out during the training session. In most cases, training sessions are sequenced with increasing levels of difficulty. This method is suitable for disciplines whose learning requires the implementation of a real-life project or experiment. We use this method in our cooking, art and drama workshops. These workshops leave room for learners to share their culture and vision, all within a learning context.
