One sunny day, long ago, many people gathered in a house to listen to a man named Jesus. He was telling wonderful stories and teaching about love and kindness.
Outside the house, four friends were carrying their friend on a mat because he could not walk. They really wanted to get their friend close to Jesus, as they believed Jesus could make him better. But, oh dear! The house was so packed with people that they could not get in.
But these friends were very determined. They had a clever idea! They climbed up to the roof of the house and made a hole. Slowly and carefully, they lowered their friend down on his mat, right in front of Jesus. Everyone inside was very surprised to see a man coming down from the ceiling!
Jesus looked at the man and then at his four caring friends. He was touched by their faith and determination. With a kind smile, Jesus said to the man, "Get up and walk!"
The man stood up, picked up his mat, and began to walk around. Everyone was amazed and clapped with joy. They thanked God for the wonderful thing they had seen.
