"Australia is an island country located on the continent of Oceania, bathed by the Indian Ocean to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east. Its capital is the city of Canberra. The Australian territory is one of the largest in the world, with more than 7.6 thousand km², and a large part of its land is made up of plains and plateaus. In the center of Australia, there is a large desert region, where the arid climate contrasts with the mild climates of the south and east of the country. The Australian fauna and flora are very rich and are made up of thousands of endemic species, such as kangaroos and other marsupial animals. Almost 26 million people live in Australia, who are concentrated in some coastal cities, such as Melbourne. The Australian economy is developed and diversified, although the country is well known for the production and trade of mineral coal and agricultural products."
