DESEO FUTURO

Situación presente que no gusta al hablante y le gustaría cambiar o mejorar: I wish I had more time. I wish I were on holidays now.

If only = desearía / me gustaría I (1ª persona sing.) + wish / If only = Ojalá I wish / If only it weren't so cold

Nos lamentamos o arrepentimos de acciones o situaciones pasadas: I wish I hadn't said that. I wish I had studied harder for that test
I wish you could come to the party. I wish scientists would find a cure for Alzheimer's. Si el sujeto de wish y el de la subordinada son diferentes, usamos would: I wish students would pay more attention during the lessons.
