Once there was a wizard, a grumpy, old wizard,

who lived next door to Paulo.

Paulo was always happy.

He loved to swing.

He loved to dig.

He loved to bounce.

And… he loved sausages.

Long ago, the wizard was cheerful too. He loved to entertain the village with his clever tricks. With a wave of his wand, colourful rainbows appeared. And with a sprinkle of magic, beautiful flowers bloomed everywhere.

But one evening, there was a terrible storm. A bolt of lightning zapped the wizard’s wand and it started to behave in a peculiar way.

It was broken. The wizard could no longer perform magic for the village. He became sad and grumpy. And he stayed at home.

So Paulo played with his ball alone.
