• Sumeru is inspired by both South Asian and Middle East culture
• After being isolated for 500 years, Nahida as the archon, holds little sway. Only the sages of Sumeru Akademiya, who've rarely spoken to her have seen her, ruling in her place.

Sumeru

The purest Irminsul branch gave birth to the next Dendro Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's heir. Born five centuries after the death of Rukkhadevata, she lived in isolation in the Sanctuary of Surasthana, watching Sumeru via the Akasha Terminal, closed off from the outside world. Of The Seven, she's the newest and youngest. Everyone believes Nahida was the first Dendro Archon, as Greater Lord Rukkhadevata erased everyone's memories, including those of her existence. The only one who knows the real story is The Traveler.

• Inazuma is inspired by Japanese culture
• The Shogun is an artificial body made by Ei to act as her current vessel.

• Ei isolated herself to meditate in the Plane of Euthymia, and her puppet has been in charge of Inazuman civil affairs

Inazuma

The previous Electro Archon, Ei's older twin sister Makoto, also known as Baal, died 500 years ago in the cataclysm. Since then, Ei has assumed the Shogunate and continued to rule. Post-apocalypse, Ei created an experimental puppet to test erosion resistance and store her Gnosis. Disheartened by his weeping after being created, she sealed his powers and put him into a slumber at Narukami Shrine. Later discovered by the Fatui, he earned the name Scaramouche.

• Inspired by Chinese culture
• The only other original member of The Seven that is still alive
• Zhongli is calm, reserved, and polite
• Zhongli enjoys Osmanthus wine as it was the drink he and his former Archon friends used to have when they met up in Liyue.

Liyue

Zhongli, Rex Lapis' human vessel, is the creator of mora, the currency used in the game. He often forgets about it as his Gnosis can make unlimited mora. A gnosis is a divine symbol representing the elemental power and authority of one of the seven archons

• Some of Fontaine's cultural elements seem to take inspiration from other cultures in and around France, such as Basque, Corsican, and English.
• After Focalors' death, Furina now lives autonomously as a regular human.
• Fontaine no longer has an archon

Fontaine [spoilers]

Furina and Focalors were once merged, but split into divine and human aspects. Focalors hid within the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale for 500 years while Furina acted on her behalf. Focalors cursed Furina with immortality tied to her divinity, preventing happiness. Furina, gathering power, made a massive sword to kill her divine half, per the Fontaine prophecy of sin and a cleansing flood. Focalors, through self-condemnation, shattered the Divine Throne and became the final Hydro Archon, leading to Fontaine's purification. This prevented further transformation into Oceanids, sparing those affected before.

• Technologically, Snezhnaya is much more advanced than the other regions on Teyvat.
• Snezhnaya seems to be inspired by a mix of Tsarist and Soviet Russia (primarily Siberia in regards to landscape), and often uses Russian words for names. However, it also draws from other European nations as well, such as using Italian commedia dell'arte stock characters' names for the Harbingers.

Snezhnaya

Snezhnaya, a perpetually stormy region, faces month-long blizzards where survival means constant movement. Despite danger, the people cherish life. The Tsaritsa, ruling Snezhnaya, employs the Fatui to manipulate nations and seeks the Archons' Gnoses, aiming to "burn away the old world." Granting Delusions, she succeeded a previous Cryo Archon, not the war's victor, deeply embittered by witnessing a cataclysm in history.

• Mainly inspired by German culture
• Venti is one of The Seven's (seven archons) original members who are still alive
• Venti refuses to directly govern his people, so neither he or anyone else could deceive themselves into tyranny

Mondstadt

"The Traveler" is looking for their twin sibling, which is either Aether or Lumine, which is opposite the gender you pick. There was a young Nameless Bard who lived in old Mondstadt 2,600 years ago. He befriended the wind spirit that eventually became Barbatos. When this boy died, Barbatos made a human vessel called Venti, in his image.

• Natlan seems to be inspired by the Pre-Columbian civilizations of Latin America as well as West African cultures.
• Dragons in Natlan have undergone long-term development and evolution with a large number of them coexisting with humanity.
• The people of Natlan apparently practice shadowboxing.

Natlan

Very little is known about Natlan as this nation is not available in the game yet. Natlan is home to natural hot springs created from volcanic activity. Natlan's people are grouped into tribes, and each tribe follows different rules.
