Shoshone Land

• The Shoshone have been on their land for over 12,000 years.
• Following the eradication of the American buffalo and military aggression by the United States, the Shoshone entered into a series of treaties in the nineteenth century, establishing the reservations where they now reside.
• The Shoshone are already experiencing the impacts of climate change on their natural resources, landscapes, and people. They are at the forefront of identifying adaptation strategies and actions to minimize the negative effects of climate change.
