Speaking Test 2 Practice
Part 1: Icebreaker (individual)
Each student will be asked a simple question about topics seen in class that they should answer in 1 minute to 2 minutes (including instructions) UNIT 1 1. Why are people with higher incomes likely to enjoy better health? Do you think this is fair? Why? Why not? 2. What are some factors in a person's life that can affect their life expectancy? 3. Why is the work of psychologists and psychiatrists so important? 4. What do you know about eating disorders? What are the causes and treatment? How do they affect people’s lives? 5. What are phobias? What did you learn about this in class? Can phobias be treated and cured? 6. What do you think about obesity in our country? What would you do to prevent this condition? Do healthy eating habits and vigorous exercise have anything to do with this? 7. In your opinion, what is the best way to deal with anxiety? 8. What do you think about consuming processed food? How would you replace these foods with a healthy diet? How can this affect your lifestyle? 9. What are eating disroders? How do you relate this to EDNOS?
Part 2: Long turn (individual)
Each student will prepare in advance a 2-minute-long speech about a topic which will be assigned to each student individually a day before the speaking test. A. Advantages of market economies B. Drawbacks of Traditional economies C. Characteristics of Command economies D. Why is it useful for a student or family to do a budget? What are the steps to follow? E. What are some important considerations or strategies to get out of debt? F. What are some of the most important types of economies in the world? What are their advantages and disadvantages? G. How difficult do you think it is to have a family budget? What are the advantages of having one? H. What is digital money? What are the advantages and disadvantages for a country to have digital currency?
Part 3: Conversation (in pairs)
Students will be asked to have a conversation about the topic of money and economy for about 3 minutes (including instructions). CHECK PRACTICE IN THE NEXT SLIDE!
