En los años 60 se podían comprimir 10 componentes en un chip. En 1970 ya cabían y actualmente se pueden llegar a comprimir 100 millones de transistores y otros componentes en 1cm^2

¿qué es un chip?

Circuito formado por multitud de componentes electrónicos que son grabados sobre una serie de capas conductoras y semiconductoras utilizando técinas fotografícas, permitiendo la fabricacion de circuitos muy complejos sin necesidad de integrar o soldar componentes, y por otro, niveles cada vez mayores de miniaturización.
