In 1969 there was a campaign by Ireland to end discrimination against the Catholic minority by the Protestant government. The authorities tried to stop the campaign and people accused them of being very brutal. This caused tensions and the conflict THE TROUBLES.

The Irish Republican Army (IRA) planted bombs in pubs in Woolwich and Birmingham (England), killing 30 people in total

In 1984 the IRA sent a bomb to the Grand Hotel in Brighton where Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and her government were staying during a Conservative Party conference. 5 people died.

It was a violent repression in a demonstration, leaving 14 protesters dead due to shots fired by British parachutes.

Good Friday Agreement
In 1998 the Good Friday Agreement was signed between London, Dublin and the Northern Irish political parties, with the IRA in agreement.
But 4 months later a small IRA group hides a bomb in a market killing 29 people, including women and children. Even so, the agreement was not broken.
1992-1993
In 1992 and 1993, two major attacks were produced,against London. They left 4 dead and caused enormous damage.
