Definition 3

At the age of 21, the squire was dubbed a knight. The lord touched him with the flat of his sword saying :

« I dub thee Sir…. ».

My coat of arms was composed of three white roundels because I was wealthy.

The camps

Henry V set up a camp in a field situated in the Southeast corner of the map, next to Maisoncelle. As for the French camp, it was set on the opposite of the English camp, behind the Agincourt wood.

The armies

The French placed their armies between Tramecourt on their left and Agincourt on their right. They blocked the English’s route to Calais. The English placed their armies between Tramecourt on their right and Agincourt on their left.

My coat of arms was composed of three lions and a red stripe in the middle.

My coat of arms was white in the middle because I was innocent. There were eight birds on a green background because I was affectionate.

The French troops

The French cavalry was divided into two groups. They were on the left and on the right of the front group of the men-at-arms. The French crossbowmen were hidden behind the French cavalries and the men-at-arms.

The English troops

Henry V placed 200 archers in the meadows close to the woods of Tramecourt and Agincourt. They could attack the French. In order to protect themselves the English men-at-arms and archers planted sharp wooden stakes in front of their army.

Usually at the age of 14, a page became a squire. He assisted the knight at tournaments and in battles. He learned how to fight with real weapons.

My coat of arms was composed of a lion with a crown in the middle because I was victorious. The middle was white but the surrounding was black because I was resistant.

My coat of arms was yellow and red. There was a star at the top left hand corner because I had divine qualities.

Henry V

My coat of arms was composed of six lions with blue tongues and lily flowers because I claimed to be the King of England and France. The lions were the symbols of England and the lily flowers referred to France.

At the age of seven, a boy would become a page in the service of a noble. He helped the lord with his clothes and armour at jousting tournaments. He also learned how to ride and hunt.

The woods

Agincourt wood is on the western part of the map whereas the Tramecourt wood is situated on the eastern part of the map.

The cities

The route to Calais is located on the northern part of the map. Maisoncelle is a small town situated at the south of the Agincourt wood.
