TYPICAL DISHES

The most typical dihes are meals of lamb, cow , veal. Here we cook it normally in ribs or chops, the most famous dish is the veal chops and the mollejas.

Also we have the Zamorana rice, the garlic soup and chichos.

PROXIMITY PRODUCTS

In Aliste the people usually eat proximity products like:

  • The mushrooms we take in the mountain and forests.
  • The chestnuts, because a lot of people of here have some chestnuts trees.
  • Here many people have their own garden where they plant many fruits and vegetables.
  • The products that animals provide us.

WINES

There are various wine cellars in Zamora, the most known are from Toro, Morales del Vino, San Blas, but here in aliste we have three wine cellers located in Sejas de Aliste, Riofrio de Aliste and Figueruela de Abajo. In important dinners we drink it, in parties, birthdays, always in important celebrations.

DESSERTS

The most known desserts are:

  • The borrachos which in English means drunk because borrachos has rum
  • Grisuela cake or the Bercianos cake.
  • As well we sell honey what we produce in differents zones like Figueruela or Trabazos.
