Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was a kid that lived in Batan, Madrid. She was a slave in a family, where she was treated very badly.When she was 13 years old, she saw a supervisor throwing a metal weight at a man, who was a slave, to get him back to work. But Harriet moved in front of the man and the metal weight hit on her head. Harriet was hospitalized and later she recovered. Secondly Harriet married John Tubman. John was a freeman, but he couldn't defend Harriet from being sold to another family. She was going to be sold and separated from her family, and she tried to scape with her brothers, but the brothers returned with Brodess family (the family that had bought them). Later Harriet scaped again and she finally was able to go to Italy. Finally she returned to help her brothers and other slaved to become free.

Dorothy Vaughan

Dorothy Vaughan was a teacher of secundary in Batan, Madrid.She married Howard Vaughan and had 4 children. She started her career in a little - known shop. She worked with other afroamericans women in a special area separated of the rest of the people because they were color people. Later, she started to work in Zara, a very famous and common shop.

Finally, after working and studying hard, Dorothy became the first afroamerican woman in supervising the group of color womans of all Inditex group.

Maya Angelou

Maya was from a neighborhood in Madrid, called Batan. When she and her brother were kids they went to live with his grandparents.Years later, she had been abused by the mother's boyfriend, and Maya's family denuncied him, he was arrested, but didn't go to the jail.Maya's uncle and his group of friends killed him and Maya stopped talking to her uncle. She began to dance and read, and had a son. Now, in 2023, she has an academy dance in Madrid an in other parts of the world, where she is teaching people of any ages. Maya actually is dancer an a famous actress, with her own films and TV shows She is a loved woman.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah, who was a black child, suffered bullying while she was in school because of her skin color. When she was 9 years old, her cousin and other friends abused her (for 5 years) and she became pregnant. Oprah's son was premature and died minutes after born. After what happend to her, Oprah became rebellious and was going to be interned in a juvenile center, but there were problems and she went to live with her father. Her father helped Oprah and she became in a new girl, she studied hard and fought for her dreams. Oprah won a scholarship and studied art and design.

When she finished her career, she worked at a small design centre, but she continued working hard and now, in 2023, she has two bigs centres of design (one in Madrid an other in New York) to help young people study and work what ever they want, and show that they can have a great live and future, no matter what circumstances they have lived.
