Summary
The schools have worked together to develop teaching and learning. We have started to share expertise at Johnston C.P. School. We are going to continue to develop this work.

Maths Curriculum
Staff have to visit each others schools observing them teach. We have allowed staff to agree the focus with their parterns.
We spent time talking about pace and questioning. Staff have included this focus in observation.
Part of the work has included teach meet discussions, supporting staff to reflect on their work.

We have carefully grouped our teachers so that they are working with someone in a similar age phase. We have used our Friday afternoons to meet and support staff.
Staff Meeting Support - Teaching Maths Outside! Summer 2023
Maths has developed as an area of strength at Johnston. In recent years, 70% of pupils have achieved a score above 115. A key part of this has been about our engaging curriculum, using the outdoors to support pupil to develop their mahts skills. At Johnston, we have shared this across the region on numerous occasions and we spent a staff meeting sharing approaches at Fenton.
