Name Term 1 St. Lawrence Primary School Class 2 Week 9 Monday November 13th, 2023 Social Studies Physical Regions of Barbados

Barbados has eight physical regions. They are: 1) The Saint Lucy Tableland- It is described as a plateaux and is gently rolling land. 2) The Western Terraces- A series of step-like portions of rock which rises to form a cliff that surrounds the Central Uplands.

3) The Central Uplands- A ring of cliffs that make up an uneven plateau. 4) The Scotland District- It consists of many valleys separated by steep-side ridges and high hills. 5) Saint George's Valley- It is described as a broad vale or flat valley.

6) Christ Church Ridge- A hill that flattens at the top and runs from the eastern part to the southwest part of the island. 7) Silver Sands Flat- A low plain that slopes downward from the Christ Church Ridge and out onto the Atlantic Ocean.

8) Saint Philip Tableland- A broad plain that is found in the eastern most parts of the island.
