Students with disability's don't necessarily learn slower or need more help. They just might learn in different ways than other students. Take note of how students learn best, and give options for learning.
Students can relate to many different quality's in characters, even if they look 'different' than them. Introduce story's with characters of all shapes and sizes, ethnicity and race.
Students don't always feel comfortable asking for help. For students who are shy or don't feel comfortable asking their question in person, have a designated spot in the classroom that students have the option to write any problems or questions they have. check throughout the day and respond appropriately.
All Students want to be successful, make sure to take the time to encourage each student to do their best. Especially if they get a poor grade on one subject, that doesn't define you as a whole.
