When we can use it?

  • Expressing Future Plans.
  • "Going to" is often used for more immediate and certain future actions.
  • "Going to" is used to express intentions or things you have decided to do.
  • "Going to" can also be used to make predictions about the future based on current evidence or situations.

How to form it?

  • Form:
Subject + am/is/are + going to + base form of the verb.Examples:
  • I am going to travel.
  • She is going to study.
  • They are going to watch a movie.

  • Look at those dark clouds. It's going to rain soon.
  • She's been studying all night. She's going to ace the exam.
  • He is going to start a new diet.
  • We are going to exercise more regularly.
  • I am going to visit my grandmother tomorrow.

How to form questions?

Form: Am/Is/Are + subject + "going to" + base form of the verb + ?Examples:

  • Am I going to travel?
  • Is she going to attend the conference?
  • Are they going to buy a new car?
  • Is he going to finish his project?
  • What is your friend going to study in college?
  • Where are you going to travel for your next vacation?
You can add question words like: who, why, what, where, when, etc. before am/is/are.

Going to

Is often used for planned and certain events. When there is evidence or a plan in place for a future event. It implies a higher level of certainty that the action will occur.

Is used for spontaneous decisions and predictions.It implies a lower level of certainty compared to "going to."
