MANY AND MUCH
We use many before plural (countable) nouns and much before uncountable nouns. We use them in negative sentences and questions. We don’t normally use them in affirmative sentences.
EXAMPLES:I DON'T EAT MUCH BREADI EAT MUCH FRUIT EVERY WEEKI DON'T ANY BANANAS I EAT MANY VEGETABLES
LITTLE - FEW
Little Without the “a”, it translates as not too much. It has a negative focus, as it indicates that the amount is insufficient, while little has a positive connotation
We use Few to refer to countable nouns, for example: vegetables, eggs, etc.
EXAMPLES:TAYLOR EATS FEW CUCUMBERS BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T LIKE THEMI LIKE BOILEDEGGS BUT I EAT FEW EGGS IN GENERAL
EXAMPLES:
I drink a little milk in the morningI ate a little bread
SOME - ANY
Some and any are words used in English to refer to an indefinite amount of something and have neither gender (feminine or masculine) nor number (singular or plural).
Any is always used in negative sentences.EXAMPLE:There aren’t any pears left. I don’t want any coffee.
Some is always used in affirmative sentences.EXAMPLE:I'M DRINKING SOME TEASome in interrogative sentences can be used to express offers and requestsEXAMPLE:
Any in interrogative sentence is used to ask questions about an indefinite amount of something.EXAMPLE:Is there any ice in the freezer?
Would you like some coffee?
HOW MUCH AND HOW MANY
How much: Used with countless things (meat, stress, honey, sugar, milk, water, wine, etc.)EXAMPLE:HOW MUCH WATER DID YOU DRINK THIS WEEK?How many: Used with countable things (vegetables carrots, cucumbers, beer, etc.)EXAMPLE:HOW MANY VEGETABLES DID YOU BUY?
