Curricular Pillars Student Handbook Section 2.2.0
The curriculum plan is divided into four categories or curricular pillars rooted in the movement system and integrated through learning activities.
Foundational and Clinical Sciences Pillar
Clinical Management Pillar
Practice Management Pillar
Clinical & Professional Readiness Pillar
Incorporate basic science knowledge into clinical science of normal human movement and the study of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions across body systems
Integrate information across multiple systems that affect a patient or client’s movement and function. These courses advance the foundation for clinical reasoning, documentation, communication, assessment, problem solving, and analytical skills in the clinical context.
Provide opportunities to apply concepts during clinical education experiences. Courses also focus on growth into a leader and advocate with a mindset for adaptability and lifelong learning.
Align with the core values of the profession for transforming health and optimizing movement. Courses in this pillar provide students with the affective, behavior and cognitive skills needed to serve as movement specialists in clinical experiences and prepare for entry-level practice.

Student Workload Student Handbook Section 2.7.0
- The accelerated nature of the two-year hybrid DPT curriculum means that students should expect a workload that is more challenging than that of typical graduate education, one requiring full attention and dedicated time for study.
- The faculty recommends that students do not seek outside employment so that sufficient time is available for reading of assigned materials, viewing of instructional videos, engaging in synchronous class sessions, completing homework, participating in group projects, and fulfilling other course requirements as assigned by the course instructor.
- Students can expect weekly workloads of approximately:
Lab Immersions
Clinical Education
Academic Coursework
44.2 Hours
56 Hours
35 Hours
During onsite
(Range 39 to 47 hours)
