The legend of the Bayou Teche.
This is a tale about the Chitimacha's version of the creation of the Bayou Teche, a river in Louisiana According to the story, there was a horrible snake that was a great enemy to the Chitimacha. The snake was incredibly long. One day, the Chtimacha decided to kill the snake. The warriors fought bravely and they managed to kill the snake. All proof that remains of it's existence is the Bayou Teche watercourse.
