Assessment data can offer evidence of student learning in a program, reveal a program's strengths and areas in need of improvement, and inform actions towards improving or enhancing the program

Pre-aSSESSMENTS
Formative vs Summative
The goal of formative assessment is to monitor student learning to provide ongoing feedback that can be used by instructors to improve their teaching and by students to improve their learning.
Prepares the student for a formative or summative
Creates an anchor point. Helps gauage student's current knowledge
Identifys student's strengths and weaknesses
The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark
Establish a flow through the content.
Measure results.

Data and Your Student: Data hELPS US
Test results are examined and data is created. Data is analyzed set of information designed to provide information on a test group, in this instance students.
Provide apporiate level instructional material
Identify at-risk students and provide early support
Data is compared against a beachmark or standard. In most cases the standard provided is based off of classroom or department test scores. Summatives use a benchmark generated from state and national levels.
Strenghen the weakness of a student, i.e. improving math and fluency levels
Provide planning opportuntines for future studies
