Slack is a messaging app for business. At FIU Online, this is the main communication tool for the entire unit. You can access it through a web browser or you can download the app. You can also download the app for your phone. You will probably be added to several channels, but you can ask your supervisor which other channels they recommend you join.
MS Teams
MS Teams is another business communication platform similar to Slack. It's the preferred communication app for FIU in general, so you may use it when communicating with instructors or people in other units at FIU.
Zoom
Zoom is a video meetings platform that is used university-wide. Most meetings at FIU Online are fully online or hybrid through Zoom.
Outlook
Outlook is the email provider used university-wide.
