Some people might not recognize architecture as a key element of Memphis, but it serves its own purpose in the cultural significance of the city in addition to attracting a large number of tourists to the city.

• Famous for: blues music, BBQ, Elvis, Beale Street, etc.
• Architecture is underappreatiated
• Has history and importance in development of Memphis

• Aided in development of American culture
• Some of the first supermarkets, roadside motels, and distribution centers in the country

• Important underlying factor in the development of culture in both the city of Memphis, and even the entire country,

• Should not be overlooked when analyzing the culture of an area, specifically that of Memphis.
