PLO TJoy Womack, a fifteen years old dancer, leaves whit her family in Texas and she moves in Moscow. She becomes the first American to be accepted to the Bolshoi Russian Ballet Academy. Joy's dream is to join the Bolshoi company and become first dancer in the world of classical ballet. But since she isn't the only candidate and she isn't Russian the road will be very difficult for her

THE STORY AND...SPOILER!

The film represents a true story and ends with Joika almost succeeding in realizing her dream but is deceived, so she loses years of work and she can't return at the Bolshoi company. Her teacher at the academy who has always supporting her makes her get back into the game and in the end she puts dance first, before her family, her friendships and above all herself.
