...And justice for all, is a song by Metallica released in 1988, this song is a critic of the American juducial system perceived as corrupt. The text presents the allegory of justice as flouted.The cover of the album present Lady Justice pulled by chains. When the group played the song on stage, a giant statue of Lady Justice was on stage and at the end of the song the statue fell in pieces.

The title of the song ( and of the album too )"...And justice for all" is a formula taken from the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States.

Just Mercy is a book writen by the American attorney Bryan Stevenson and published in 2014. In this book Stevenson talks about his own experiences as a black attorney and defending disadvantaged clients. This book is focusing on inequalitys in the American judicial system.

These two documents are a critisism of the American judicial system, in both documents the artists are sharing their vision about the judicial system.

Differences :

The song "...And justice for all" isn't a personnal experience of any member of the group compared to "Just Mercy", this book is like an autobiography of Bryan Stevenson.In the Metallica's song, they speak about the money problem in justice and how the money control everything, contrary to Stenvenson's book that speak about racism in court.

"When they see us" is a miniserie created, co-written, and directed by Ava DuVernay for Netflix.This serie talks about a real event that happend in 1989 in Central Park, NY. This case is about 5 black and latino male suspects, they are falsely accused of the rape and murder of a white woman.

This photo was taken on May 25, 2020. It show Derek Chauvin, a 44 year old white police officer, and George Floyd a black American citizen. Dereck Chauvin killed George Floyd by puttin his knee on Floyd's neck for over 9 minutes. This murder was highly mediatized and riot and demonstrations have flared all around the world.

This case reactivated the Black Lives Matter movement all around the world. This murder is an exemple of racism in police and justice in the American system.

Common Points :

Both documents talks about a racist problem in police and judicial system in United-States.These two documents are real story that happend in two big citys in USA. And in both documents black people are wrongly accused of thing they haven't did.

Differences :

One document is a serie and the other one a photography of a recent event, "When they see us" is a reconstitution of a case that happened in the 30's in USA. The George Floyd case is a murder compared to the case in "When they see us" where the five accused have been sent in prison for nothing. The two documents take place in different eras too, one was a lot more mediatized due to social medias and everything.
