Music of the Ming and Qing Dynasties

Western European influence took hold in the East when a Jesuit Priest named Matteo Ricci gifted a harpsichord to the Ming Court in 1601. Kunqu Opera subsequently became increasingly popular--fortifying western tradition on Imperialist China.
