- Picture 1 shows a fish-and-chips van. Fish and chips is a very traditional British dish (= plat). - Picture 2 shows a classic American Diner with a long counter (= comptoir) and stools (= tabourets). The name "diner" comes from "dining car". - Picture 3 shows a Chinese take-away. The panda (the logo) is the emblem of China. - Picture 4 shows an American food truck. In the 19th century, American cowboys travelled (= voyageaient) for many weeks and one day, a cowboy named Charles Goodnight turned (= transforma) an old Army wagon into a kitchen.

Read the 4 menus. 1) Which place would you choose and why? 2) Read the menu of your favourite restaurant and pick what you'd like to eat.
