Temporary Security Officers
Description
The temporary security officers report suspicious activity to the Police and Campus Safety Department via radios to dispatch. Mt. SAC has a contract with CSC to handle security for events. The current temporary security is an extension of the contract and calls for five security officers during the day (6am-3pm) and seven security officers during the evening (3pm to 11pm).
- Supervises all officers
- Administrative work such as timekeeping, scheduling and reviewing reports
- Armed in case of an emergency
Sergeant
Job Description
There are currently two sergeants, one of which is Brian Owen. A third sergeant is in the process of being hired.
- Enforce parking regulations
- Manage traffic when there is an event
- Escort emergency personnel
Community Service Officers
Job Description
There are currently 5 Community Service Officers.
- Provide service and protection to the campus
- Assist professors and faculty by unlocking doors
- Enforce peneal codes, student misconduct and policies
- Does not enforce parking
Public Safety Officer
Job Description
There are currently 11 Public Safety Officers.

Chief of Police
The chief oversees the Police and Campus Safety Department by setting policies, talking with the union and listening to what the Police and Campus Safety Advisory Committee want the department to do. The current Chief of Police is Michael C. Williams. .
