Introduction

Hello, we are Calypso and Kassandra from KC association. We defend the concealment of exploitation of workers in TNC, racism and derogatory elements in the child cartoon. Now, we will concentrate on "Charlie and the chocolate factory" of Roal Dahl. In this book, we can see that Oompa Loompa are exploit by Willy Wonka. We can show that with some arguments.

Willy Wonka

Willy Wonka had a difficult childhood with his father. Because of his childhood, Willy decide to open his chocolate factory.

He doesn't hesitate to put the lives of 5 children in danger by promising them a visit to the chocolate factory and a gift to the end of the visit. The visit will prove dangerous for 4 of these children.

The begginning of the exploitation

Willy wonka came to find the Oompa Loompa in their place of origin (the jungle) to steal the chocolate recipe from them. He took them to work in the factory. We would like to point out that only one of the Oompa Loompa (the leader) agreed to work in the chocolate factory because he didn't know what awaited them. The Oompa Loompa have no choice to escape thier future life conditions.

Life conditions

The Oompa Loompa work a lot. They work all days (also the week end). They didn't have a lot of rest. If they don't work enough, they cannot eat and drink. The Oompa Loompa can eat only chocolat so that not very healthy for them.

They live in a tiny place. Their room is dirty and they have low cost beds so they can have back problems.

Oompa Loompa have many problems because of work and thier life conditions in thier tiny place.

Experimentation

Willy Wonka use the Oompa Loompa to make dangerous experiences without worrying about the danger and the consequences of his experiences
