Juliet is on the left. She is with a man and a woman who is holding her back. Perhaps they are her parents. Romeo is on the right with his parents too. His mother is holding him by the arm. Juliet is a Capulet whereas Romeo is a Montague. The Capulets and the Montagues hate each other. This play is a tragedy because Romeo and Juliet are in love but their parents try to separate them.
