Fountain Walkthrough: Adding Questions to a Data Collection Stage
This clickable walkthrough will take you through the process of adding questions to a Data Collection stage.

After adding the Data Collection stage to your workflow, you must add at least one question to the form in order to use the stage.

Click Edit Questions to get started.
The Data Collection Fields Editing screen will open in a new tab in your web browser. To start, you must enter a Form Name which the applicant will see when they land on the stage. You can also add an optional Form Description.
Click the purple field to type a Form Name.

Great! Now click the purple field to type a Form Description.

You also have the option to add a Logic Jump which allows you to route applicants to questions most relevant to them based on how the applicant answers the previous questions.

We're now ready to add questions to the appliction form! Click Add Question.

First, let's add a Standard question. Click Enter a question title.

In the next pop-up, popular Standard Questions will be listed first followed by any Custom Questions you previously created.
To see all Standard Questions, click See all questions.

On this next screen, you can search for a specific question or use the tabs at the top to look at questions based on topic.
Let's explore what questions are in this topic. Click Behavioral.
Standard Questions that are Secure will be indicated with a padlock icon.

Let's add this first question. Click Select.

Great! We added a Standard Question! Because this question was Standard, the answers and Data Key pre-populated and cannot be edited.
Let's make this a required question. Click the asterick to make it required.

Awesome! This question is now required to be answered by the applicant because the astericks is colored red.
We need to add another question. Click Add Question.

Click Enter a question title.

This time, let's type a Custom Question. Click the purple field to enter the question.

Great! Click again to enter the question.

Great job! Because this is a Custom Question, we will need to enter our own Data Key and determine the answer type.
Let's make the answer type a dropdown. Click Short answer to change the question type.

Click Dropdown.

Now we need to add the answers for the dropdown. Click Add Option.
You also have the option to link a previously created Option Bank to a question.

Click Option #1 to type a new answer option.

Click Add Option to another answer option.

Click Add Option to one more answer option.

Great! Now we need to enter the Data Key. The Data Key is the unique identifier connected to this question. Click Enter data key.

You will be reminded that you can only use lowercase letters, numbers and underscores when creating your Data Key. Click the purple field to save.

Let's also make this a required question. Click the asterick to make it required.

Finally, let's make this a Secured Question by clicking the padlock.

Before securing the Data Key, you will need to confirm you want to update all versions of this Data Key. Click Confirm.

Those are all the questions we need to add. Click the scroll bar to go back to the top of the page.
Awesome! This question and its associated Data Key is now Secured because the padlock is colored gold.
