Partnership with BADISA
We have partnered with the BADISA Organisation, a well-respected community organization that provides essential social services and residential care for vulnerable individuals in the community. The primary purpose of this collaboration is to educate our Grade 7 learners about the significant work BADISA does and the positive impact it has on those in need. The main objective of BADISA is to provide a safe place for women and children that comes from an unhealthy environment or taken from the parent because of neglect. From the Police station the individuals arrive at BADISA with nothing but the clothes they have on.
Shoe box project
Objective
The objective is to inform the Grade 7 learners about the project and encourage their engagement in a heartwarming initiative. We believe that by involving our learners in giving back, we can nurture a sense of responsibility, empathy, and active citizenship. To achieve this objective, i have designed a project that allows our learners to make a tangible difference. Each Grade 7 learner will have the opportunity to create a "shoe box " containing basic necessities to be donated to BADISA. These shoe boxes will be filled with essential items that can greatly benefit individuals who are less fortunate.

Create Awareness
I had held a Grade 7 assembly, where i have invited representatives from the organization along with a video of a first- hand trauma speaker that expressed their experiences, challenges and how the organisation had helped them, this will allow a more in-depth understanding of the purpose for the donations, and i showed the learners a visual example of what the box would look like and the type of needed products, however they will not be going home to ask the products to build their shoe box, they will be earning the products at home with the help of parent involvment
This was my introduction to the project during the grade 7 assembly.

Parent Involvement
Parent involvement in a school project can greatly enhance its success and impact, the parents will be aiding by allowing the learners the opportunities to be rewarded by doing chores/ tasks at home and receiving a product that goes towards the donations. As part of the learner’s participation, they will earn each item for the shoe box by completing chores at home assigned by the parent/ guardian, for every chore completed the parent / guardian will reward the learner with a product for them to put into their shoe box. This initiative not only encourages their involvement but also teaches them the value of contributing to a greater cause through their actions.
Donations/Resources - Toothpaste - Toothbrush - Soap - Sanitary product - Face cloth - Deodorant - Encouragement letter written by learner. - Any additional item that the learners want to add

Parent letter and Chore list
The written and approved letter that i had made and sent home with all the grade 7 learners to give to their parents to inform them of this project and how they can contribute and encourage their child
The written and approved chore list that the learners will be completing in order for them to build their shoe box
Shoe box project
Supportive notes and shoe boxes
at the end of the time period the learners had brought in there completed chore list and their shoe boxes, they had also included supportive notes in the boxes, this shows that the learners made their boxes feel more personal and the learners felt proud of their hard work.
7. Outcome
This project not only motivated the learners but also fostered a sense of ownership and accomplishment as they actively worked towards assembling a box of meaningful donations.
