Adjectives Writers use adjectives to make their writing more precise and lively. An adjective is a word that describes a noun or pronoun. An adjective answers one of these questions: What kind? Which one? How many? How much? Wimpy answers the question "What kind?" What kind of kid? A wimpy kid.
