THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE OF ACTION VERBS. (affirmative).
The simple past tense of action verbs is used to describe actions that occurred and were completed in the past. In the affirmative, the basic structure to form sentences in the simple past is: [Subject] + [Verb in simple past] + [Complements]

Irregular Verbs in the Simple Past
Regular Verbs in Simple Past
He worked a lot yesterday.
She went to the store.
These are those that do not follow the regular pattern of adding "-ed" to the infinitive of the verb to form past tense conjugations. Instead, these verbs have unique past tense forms that often must be learned by heart, as they do not follow a fixed rule.
They are those that follow a specific pattern when forming their conjugations in the past. They follow a general structure in which "-ed" is added
She jumped over the puddle.
We saw a beautiful sunset.
They looked at the stars.
They were happy.
