Citation Relay

Compete to see who can create accurate citations the fastest.

Go!

Here are the rules...

  • When the entire Team (Team 1 or 2) is ready and all citations are agreed to be correct, the first sub-team will use the dry-erase marker to write their citation on the board. When they are done, they will ring the bell for the instructor to check the citation.
    • If the citation is correct, the first sub-team passes the marker (baton) to the next sub-team to write their citation on the board.
    • If the citation is incorrect, the other sub-teams can help correct the citation.
  • The first Team to correctly cite all three sources wins!
  • The class is divided into two Teams. These two Teams will be further divided into three smaller teams or sub-teams (e.g., 1-1, 1-2, 1-3; 2-1, 2-2, 2-3).
  • Each sub-team is responsible for writing the correct citation for the item they are given. The sources you are asked to cite are those most commonly found in student research papers (e.g., TED Talk, a newspaper article, a scholarly article).
  • All sub-teams within the Team must have their citations complete before the first team (1-1 or 2-1) can begin writing their citation on the board. If one sub-team is extremely fast at citation writing, they can then help out their other sub-team members.
