We use "to" when we have the minute hand of the clock in the right side (from the minutes 31 - 59). For example: 4:35 1. Substract the minutes to 60 minutes. 60 - 35 = 25 2. Find the next hour to the hour hand. 4 -> 5 3. Join the time in this format: It's [minutes to] to [next hour] It's 25 to 5
Past
We use "past" for the right side of the clock (minutes 1 - 29). Example: 7:25 1. We say the number of the minute hand It's twenty five... 2. We add the word "past" and then the hour. It's twenty five past seven
