The story of the city

Roman rule extended from the 1st century AD. To the fifth century, when the Empire fell. In the 3rd century Londium was, with its port. An important residential area which welcomed around 50.000 people. Queen Victoria reigned over Great Britain from 1837 to 1901 for a total of 63 years.

Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is in Westminster, it is the official residence of the king of the United Kingdom, Charles III. It is also a place of many public ceremonies.

Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is a double-sided suspension bridge. It is one of the most important ways to cross the river Thames in fact 40.000 people cross the bridge every day.
London Eye

The London Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe (135 metres), located south of the bank of the River Thames.

Big Ben is the nickname of largest bell in the St. Stephan Clock Tower of the Palace of Wenstminster, it is build in neo-Gothic style. The tower is 96 meters.

Hyde park is one of the largest and important green areas in London. It is part of Royal parks, and is famous for Speaker's Corner, a traditional place for pubblic speeches and debates.

Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is celebrated on March 17th: in traditionally Anglo-Saxon countries people take to the streets to celebrate with rivers of beer, green clothes, shamrocks and bright hats.
