METEOR SHOWER
ABOUT IT:
Meteor showers occur when Earth passes through streams of debris left behind by comets and asteroids. Over time, the small pieces of gritty debris in these streams spread out along the parent object's orbit around the solar system.
The Quadrantid meteor shower will be active from 12 December to 12 January, producing its peak rate of meteors around 4 January.
WHERE? AND WHEN?
The shower is expected to reach peak activity at around 04:00 CST on 4 January 2024, and so the best displays might be seen before dawn on 4 January and after the radiant rises on 4 January.
Currently, Earth's rotation aligns Tlalnepantla in such a way that it faces directly toward the meteors coming in, allowing for more meteors to fall straight down, creating short streaks of light near the point from which they seem to originate.

Hotel "THE DOWNTOWN MEXICO" located in the Historic Center of Mexico City, Centro, Cuauhtémoc,
Transportation:
In this case we will not have to move anywhere as it can be seen from the hotel terrace.
NUMBER OF DAYS WE WILL STAY :
we will stay for two days
day #1 (the day before)
activities we can do:
We can visit the planetarium the day before the meteor shower, so:
- I'm meeting my friend at my hotel at 8:00 am
- The planetarium opens at 10:00
- I am taking him with me to the planetarium since he hasn't been to visit it either
- The planetarium opens at 10:00 so we leave for the planetarium at 9:00 am.
- After going to the planetarium we can go to the supermarket to buy things to eat while we watch the meteor shower
DAY #2 (meteor shower day)
Thursday, january 4, 2024
- we are waking up at 3:00:am that day
- we are waiting to the meteor shower starts at 4:00 am.
- we are seeing for a few hours enjoying the sky
- we are watching the Meteor Shower until dawn breaks around 06:45.
- we are going to rest in our rooms.
