Linear Equations and How to Solve.
y=4x+3 y+x=-2
Method 2 Subsitution
Method 1 Graphing
Method 3 Elimination
To solve this equation in elimination you change the equations to y-4x=3 and y+x=-2. You then subtract the two equations to get -5x=5 which is simplified to x=-1. Then you use x=-1 in the equations to figure out yis -1. So the answer is (-1,-1).
For Subsitution you take the problem y=4x+3 and put it into y+x=-2 to get 4x+3+x=-2. You then add the x to get 5x+3=-2. After that you subtact 3 from each side to get 5x=-5 then divide 5 from each side to get x=-1. put the x=-1 into the problems to figure out that y=-1. Your solution is (-1,-1)
One way to solve this equationn is by entering it into a graph. BY seeing where the lines intercept yu can find the values needed to solve the equation.
The easiest way for my to solve these questions is elimation. Eliiminaton is the easiest one for me because it is easy for me and makes sense. Getting rid of one one value to find the other makes sense and elimination even works for equations that have 3 variables.
