LOCATE
You will need to find someplace near you that offers STI testing. Your primary care physician may offer services, or you can search for a clinic in your area.
DISCUSS
Talk with your healthcare provider about your sexual history. Be sure to mention any symptoms, like abnormal discharge or sores around the genital area. Being honest with your provider will ensure they can give you the correct tests.
TEST
Your healthcare provider will then administer the appropriate tests. This may include urine tests, swabs, or blood tests. Usually, tests won't hurt and are quick and easy processes.
TREAT
Depending on the results of your test, your healthcare provider may prescribe you medication, like antibiotics, to help clear the infection and prevent further complications.
