who were they?
- British rock band formed in London in 1977.
- The Police's last official concert was on March 4, 1984 in Australia
- Due to several fights and quarrels between the group members the trio dissolved; although they have joined several times to play some of their songs.

Andy Summers Guitarist Born: December 31, 1942 in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire
Stewart Copeland Drummer and percussionist Born: July 16, 1952 in Alexandria, Virginia
The other “version” of the band
Started in 1951
At this time the guitarist was Henry Padovani. However with time they figured that Padovani's style didn't fit in, which created a not so good atmosphere.
In this first version of the band Andy wasn't in the picture.
Their Success
The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
They took part of the British
new wave
Their rock style was influenced by the punk, pop, reggae, and jazz genres.
Their best known album was their fifth, "Synchronicity" which includes songs such as "Every breath you take" or "wrapped around your finger" which became worldwide recognized, especially the first one, which eventually became the "anthem" of the band.
