Create Awareness

In order to create awareness about The Stationery Project, I designed and printed posters that entail important details regarding the project on it, these posters were put up around the school on the 28th of August 2023. I also created awareness about The Stationery Project by having the school print the poster out in the weekly school newsletter. This newsletter was created in order to inform the parents of the learners about the project and what they can do to assist. The newsletter was printed and handed out to the learners on the 31st of August. In order to further create awareness about The Stationery Project, I spoke with my mentor teacher and asked him to forward a copy of the poster on to the Intermediate Phase Teacher Group Chat and have the teachers forward the poster to their Class Group Chats. these group chats are with the teacher and the parents. This allowed for both the teachers and parents to be aware of the project.

Educate

I educated the teachers, learners and parents of Bedfordview Primary School about The Stationery Project by designing and printing detailed posters about The Stationery Project and hanging them around the school, this educated the teachers and learners about what The Stationery Project is and what they can do in order to make this project successful and give back to their community. I also educated the teachers, learners and parents by contacting the person in charge of the school newsletter via email and asking them if they could add the poster in the newletter in order to educate the teachers, learners and parents about The Stationery Project and what they can do in order to make this project successful and give back to their community. I also educated the teachers and parents of Bedfordview Primary School about The Stationery Project by speaking to my mentor teacher, Mr V Rowe, and asking him to forward a message and the poster to the Intermediate Phase Teacher Group Chat in order for the teachers to send the message and the poster to their Class Group Chats, these group chats entail both the class teacher and the parents of the learners within that class. This allowed for both the teachers and the parents to be educated about The Statinery project and what they can do in order to make the project successful and give back to their community. I also educated the teachers and the learners of Bedfordview Primary School about The Stationery Project by going around to each Grade 7 class and speaking to them about the project and what they can do in order to make it successful and give back to their community.

Unite

I united the learners of Bedfordview Prmary School to advocate The Stationery Project by explaining to them what it is and how important it is to give back to the community and to help those in need. I united the learners by providing them with several roles, suchh as having them donate items such as old stationery, books, textbooks, flip files, book covers, old jeans etc, after they have donated a variety of these items, I will provide the representative of each Grade 7 class with the role of collecting the stationery and then cleaning, sanatizing and testing the stationery and finally they will be provided with the role of packaging the stationery into packs. The Grade 6 and 7 learners will be united by providing them with an opporunity to attend a workshop whereby they will make use of donated jeans in order to sew pencil cases for The Stationery Project, this will be overseen by myself and my mentor teacher.

Parent and Community Involvement

I involved the parents of the learners of Bedfordview Primary School by informing them about The Stationery Project through the use of a newsletter, this newletter entailed the poster that I created which explains what the project is about and how the parents can help make this project a success and give back to their community. I also involved the parents of the learners by asking my mentor teacher, Mr V Rowe, to send the poster along with a message to the Intermediate Phase Teacher Group Chat which they forwarded to their Class Group Chats, this informed the parents about The STationery Project and how they can help make this project a success and how they will be giving back to the community. I involved the community within The Stationery Project by contacting a under resourced school, Wychwood Primary School, and asking them if they would approve of me along with Bedfordview Primary School donating the collected stationery to their school.
