Brochure Project:Day 3 (Planning)

Gather Your Materials!

  • Open the note-taking sheet that you submitted at the end of the previous lesson. You have already filled in the note-taking sheet with research notes, links to the sources you used, and a slogan that will sum up your brochure.
  • Fast forward to Page 4 of today’s edio folder. Download the Graphic Organizer!
  • Recall that your brochure should highlight a certain number of aspects of your civilization. For each aspect, you will write a short blurb (2-3 sentences) providing information on this aspect in a way that would make someone want to visit your civilization.
  • You are going to use a graphic organizer to help plan each of your blurbs.

For the Rest of Today…..

  • Continue your research for your brochure and complete your graphic organizer.
    • You will likely need to find more sources than you found in the previous lesson. Remember that you must have information from at least two sources on your graphic organizer.
  • After you finish researching, you will upload your graphic organizer to Page 6 of today’s edio folder. To earn full points, check to make sure you have filled in each required part of your graphic organizer:
    • Your name and your civilization's slogan at the top of the page
    • At least two notes of supporting details or examples for each of the two aspect tables, for a total of at least four notes
    • The author or title of the source where you got the information for each note
    • The Sources chart, including each source's author or article title, plus a link (if it is an online source) or a description (if it is a print source). You should have at least two unique sources.
  • If you have not already done so, save your file as: FirstName_LastName_GraphicOrganizer.

MAKE SURE YOU SUBMIT YOUR GRAPHIC ORGANIZER! YOUR ORGANIZER IS YOUR PARTICPATION POINTS FOR TODAY’S CLASS SESSION!
