her life in a few words...

Carla Fracci was born in the August of 1936 in Milan and died in May 2021. She's considered one of the best dancers in the 20th century from The New York Times. She was also an actress. I chose her because she was an icon of ballet that inspired many people that they can reach their results.

The mother was a factory girl who worked for the 'Innocenti' a mechanic factory in Milan. Thanks to her colleagues her daughters did an audition for the Academy of Teatro alla Scala.

She ia a dancer an acterss. She studied at the Teatro alla Scala as the sister but she wasn't as famous as her.

The father was a Major Sergeant in Russia but, after the war he became a tram driver. In fact, at Carla's death there was a tram parade in their honor.

Her dance career...

She started attempting the school in 1946 and graduated in 1954, but the first years were hard for her because she felt nostalgic for her past life. She felt knocked down because the teacher considered her listless. She became the main dancer in 1958. She danced with foreign companies as the Royal Ballet and the ABT. She's famous thanks to her roles of Giselle, her most successful role, La Sylphide, Romeo and Juliet, Coppélia etc...

Carla wrote three books, all biographies. The movie, Carla, was inspired to her last book "Step after step".
