- based on the flag of the monks, the red cross, composed of 4 shapes in harrow heads.
- created 25 symbols (triangles and points) to represent the letters of the alphabet, the letter J didn't exist when encryption was invented.
- the alphabet is divided in 2 series
- the letter N: the central point
- the sencond series is a repetition of the first, symbols are differenced with points

- Another simple substitution, similar to the Templar Cipher
- each letter of the alphabet is replaced by a geometric symbol
- the letters of the Latin alphabet in square grids
- two groups of 9 letters, and two groups of 4 letters, in alphabetical order
- the name Pigpen: the appearance of this grid evokes a stylized pig park
