satan
The character of Satan has been portrayed in various ways in literature and media. Let's explore the links between the role of Satan in the mentioned works:
01
aNGEl heart
A private investigator is hired by a man named Louis Cyphre to track down a singer named Johnny Favorite. But the investigation takes an unexpected turn.
In "Angel Heart," the character Louis Cyphre, played by Robert De Niro, is revealed to be a devil-like figure. This character bears some resemblance to the traditional Satan archetype in terms of manipulation and dark dealings.
02
The devil's advocate
An unscrupulous Florida lawyer finds a job at a prestigious New York law firm where the owner is the Devil himself.
"The Devil's Advocate" features John Milton, played by Al Pacino, as a high-powered attorney who is later revealed to be Satan. The connection to Milton is clear, as the film's title references him, and it explores themes of temptation and moral corruption.
03
hannibal lecter
At the end of the Second World War, the teenager Hannibal Lecter escapes from the Soviet orphanage where he has been locked up. Having arrived in Paris in search of his only relative, he discovers that he is dead, but is welcomed by his mysterious Japanese widow, Lady Murasaki, who takes care of the boy and sets him up for a medical career. But Hannibal is to appeas a bloody revenge.
"While the character of Hannibal Lecter is not a representation of Satan, he shares some features with the traditional devil, such as manipulation, intellect, and a dark enigmatic presence. However, in my opinion this connection is more subtle.
04
Lucifer
Lucifer Morningstar, bored of inflicting punishment in hell, decides to take a break and open a club in Los Angeles. He soon begins to collaborate with detective Chloe Decker to solve murder cases thanks to his ability to be told about people's sins and hidden desires
The TV series "Lucifer" is a modern interpretation of the Devil. The character Lucifer Morningstar, portrayed by Tom Ellis, is based on the DC Comics character. The show explores themes of redemption, free will, and morality while retaining some traditional aspects ofSatan.
In summary,
the links between these works and Milton's Satan are evident in their exploration of themes related to temptation, moral ambiguity, and the complex nature of these characters. Each work provides its own unique interpretation of Satan, drawing from literary and cultural influences.
