HOW DID I GET HERE?
Your class has won a ride in a Hot Air Balloon. Congratualtions! BUT There's a problem... The wind is too strong and the balloon has blown too far off course! The gas for the burner is running out meaning the balloon could crash at any moment! The pilot says that there is only enough gas left to get one passenger safely back to the lauch site. This means that some of you will have to jump...
HELP!
How to Survive
Choose a historical figure
Choose an important person from history. Someone who is so important, that it would be crazy to throw them out of the balloon! You are going to become them.
Write a speech
Research your historical figure. Use this research to write a speech to the other people in the balloon, begging them not to throw you out.
Be persuasive
Make your speech persuasive! Use examples from your life to justify why you should stay in the balloon. Look at the language section to find out more.
Present
Present your speech to the class. And listen to theirs. Vote for someone to stay in the balloon. You cannot vote for yourself.
WHO AM I?
Choose a person from history who has had a great impact on the word and research them. Spiritual and political leaders are not permitted. Find out things like:
- Basic Information: Name, date of birth, place of birth etc.
- Education: Did they go to school / university? Where? What did they study?
- Family: Did they have a family? Were they important?
- Job: What was their job? Was it important? Did they have any other jobs before?
- Impact: What impact have they had on society? How would life today be different if they had not survived?
